MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) – Frios Gourmet Pops is set to hold a grand opening for their newest location in Downtown Montgomery!

Frios is planning to open the newest location in the historic ‘Lower Dexter’ district of downtown. A grand opening will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, according to Troy Stubbs owner and operator of Frios.

The storefront will be located at 36 Dexter Avenue suite 120, next to Momma Goldberg’s and adjacent to the District 36 Lofts.

Frios is an Alabama-based gourmet popsicle shop which features fresh, seasonal and all-natural ingredients from local farmers and mom-and-pop suppliers to create delicious, handmade ‘dessert on a stick’. The frozen treats cost $3 each and feature flavors that illustrate the company’s logo of ‘Fresh Frozen Fun’

Troy and his wife Jenny Stubbs are proponents of downtown revitalization and have other stores located in downtown Prattville, downtown Wetumpka and near downtown Tallassee.

“Frios is more than just an amazing dessert. It’s a storefront that stands for community, improved quality of life, and we can’t think of a better place to be than Lower Dexter,” Troy Stubbs explained. “It’s a very exciting time for downtown Montgomery.”

Jenny Stubbs continued, “Even the dairy in our ‘creamy’ pops comes from Working Cows Dairy Farms in Slocomb, and we’ll progressively introduce hundreds of ‘fruity’ and ‘creamy’ pops to our customers. We even have holiday-inspired flavors during the year and provide fundraising opportunities for local schools and organizations. So, the fun definitely doesn’t stop once summer is over.”
